1. What is the purpose of the NFPA? To define the means of signal initiation, transmission, notification,
& annunciation; the levels of performance; & reliability of the various fire alarm systems. 1-2.1
2. Auxiliary fire alarm system types? Local & shunt type. 6-16.4.1
3. Test records shall be kept for 1 year or the next test than 1 year thereafter. 7-5.2.1
4. Fire alarm systems shall be provided with at least 2 independent and reliable power supplies.

5. The authority having jurisdiction shall be notified prior to installation and alteration of equipment or wiring. 1-6.1.1
6. Beams that project more than 18 inches below a ceiling and are more than 8 ft. on center shall be treated as a separate area. 2-2.4.3
7. Smoke detectors shall not be located in areas above 100 degrees F (38 C) unless specifically designed for use. 2-3.6.1.1 Exception
